Motivation Monday with SEAC(R) John Wayne Troxell: Get Some ‘FREST’.

Hey, folks, SEAC(R) John Wayne Troxell here, and this is your Motivation Monday brought to you by Veterans Lending Group.

I’m here in beautiful, hot, Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas, for the NCO week this week that the 344th battalion is running and I’m excited to be here. Hey, I want to talk to you about some. I just got through with a hard PME Hard session over here at the outdoor training facility that they have here on Goodfellow Air Force Base.

This brings me up to a good point. and it’s about personal well-being, whether you’re in the military or in business. What this is called in the Military we call it having ‘Good Fighter Management’. It also applies in the business sense where we have to have good self well-being, and the best way to get after this is the acronym that I like to use called ‘FREST”. It’s Family, Read, Exercise, Sleep, and Think. So when you’re off duty or you’re not at work, take time to spend it with your family and make it quality time. Do some things that you like to do as a family and go out and enjoy yourself. But also take the time to read, continue to grow, continue to exercise your mind and you got to exercise. You can’t forget to get your PME Hard in and #GetWithTheMovement.

I don’t care if he’s just walking- you got to do something to continue to exercise your body. You’ve got to get the appropriate amount of sleep because the better sleep and the better rest you have, the better you’ll be at doing your work. And the last thing, take time to think all right. Which means take time to reflect, take time to think critically, and take time to plan things out. Above all else, don’t forget to enjoy life outside the work. The more you enjoy life outside work, the better you will be effective at your job, at work, whether it’s in the military or business.

Have a great week, everybody, I’m going to have a phenomenal week here with all of these Non-Commissioned Officers, the backbone of our Military, our greatest competitive advantage. Boom!
