Motivation Monday with SEAC(R) John Wayne Troxell: Self-Respect.

Hey folks, I’m SEAC(R) John Wayne Troxell, and this is Motivation Monday brought to you by Veterans Lending Group.

Today, I want to talk to you about a key attribute that everyone throughout their life ought to exhibit or every individual on a high performing team, whether in the Military or business, needs to exhibit, and that’s called ‘Self-Respect’.

Self-respect means there’s a certain amount of pride and confidence in oneself and that the individual lives under the attributes of dignity and honor and someone that is exhibiting self-respect and living with dignity and honor, they will be much easier to be considerate of others and provide mutual respect that will build mutual trust and build a high performing team.

This is not to be confused with being self-centered or conceited. Conceited, meaning that someone is excessively confident, oneself or their vain. This can be a detriment to building a high performing team. And then on the other end of the spectrum, it could be self-loathing, meaning there’s a certain dislike of oneself and an individual that will cause their behavior to potentially become delusional or become vulgar.

In the end, it will be hard for a person that is self-loathing to show respect and consideration for others, and they will be a detriment to building that high performing team. So, building that team starts with mutual trust and respect, and it starts with each individual exhibiting self-respect, whether that is to build a high performing team or to just live harmoniously in life.

Have a great week, everybody. Boom!
