Hey, folks, SEAC(R) John Wayne Troxell here, and this is your Motivation Monday brought to you by Veterans Lending Group.
Hey, let’s talk about an important critical step in any task or mission, accomplishment in business or in the Military – and that’s Preparation. We all know you have to have a great plan in order to accomplish a task. But in the Military, we know that sometimes that plan will not last past the first contact with the enemy.
What’s as important as having a good plan? It’s preparation, and preparation is the actual act of getting you ready to actively do the work needed to accomplish that task. You can plan all you want, but if you don’t prepare, you’re not going to be ready to accomplish that task. And the more you prepare and go through the steps of preparation, the more discipline and experience you will build and will allow you to get better at accomplishing the task.
What are some examples of good preparation, execution, checks of people, equipment and of time to make sure you’re going to be successful? Rehearsals are absolutely critical. Rehearsing what you’re actually going to do in briefing the CEO or actually taking on that military mission. Then practice, practice, practice the fundamentals of the critical steps necessary to accomplish that task.
So you want to be a high performing organization and continue to get better at task and mission accomplishment? You’ve got to have a good plan – but preparation is absolutely critical getting in the sets and repetitions to make sure that you’re performing that task to a high standard.
Have a great week, everybody. Boom!
